One Day Seminar On Youth Animation In Christ

The one day Regional Seminar for the Catholic students on Youth Animation in Jesus Christ was conducted in Jayaraj Annapackiam College on 26th August,2010. 
 

      The inaugural function started with the prayer song and scripture reading Dr. Delphin Prema, Convenor of Campus Ministry, welcomed the gathering.  Rev. Dr. Sr. Y. Yesu Thangam, Principal and the Vice-President of the Xavier Board of Tamil Nadu Region, gave the inaugural address in which she substantiated the vision and mission of Xavier Board and highlighted on the importance of the values of Christ.
Rev. Sr. Dr. P. Helen Chandra, Secretary, felicitated and explained the importance of Christian Values like, humility, love and sacrifice. Sr. Fathima Mary Sylvia proposed the vote of thanks.  Rev. Fr. Silvester, Parish Priest, St. Antonys Church, Kuttathupatti, Dindigul, enlightened the audience on “Animation of Youth towards Nation Building”.  Christ is perfect, hence the youth also should be led towards perfection is the message of Fr. Silvester. In the second session Fr. Silvester dealt with “Christian leadership through Jesus” in which he brought out the necessity of self-surrender and humility, the basic requisites of a leader, and he stressed the sanctity of the Holy Mass.
In the afternoon, Mrs. Jeslyn  V. Jeyakumar delivered her lecture on “To unveil Jesus Christ in Youth”.  Her speech was centered around the Biblical verse that the youth should set an example in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
The fourth session was concentrated on the topic “The vibrant youth amidst materialism and mass media” in which Mrs. Jeslyn vividly brought out the necessity of the values of Christ which will help to avoid sin and temptations of the world.
The valedictory address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Dr. Xavier Vedam, Principal, Arulanandar College, Karumathoor.  He quoted on Mother Teresa who was a living example of simplicity and humility who followed the ways of Jesus Christ in reaching the unreached.  The certificates were distributed by the Principal Rev. Sr. Dr. Y. Yesu Thangam.  Mrs. T.M. Umarani, Associate Professor in English Proposed Vote of Thanks.
