Mrs. K.Southamani, organizer, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Sr. Y. Yesu Thangam, Principal of the college, gave the inaugural address. In her address, she emphasized the importance of conserving energy and preserving the natural source like water. The chief guest Prof. N. Krishna Moorthy, Head of chemistry department, Arul Anandar College, Karumathur, focused on the topic “Synthetic Materials-present and future”. He discussed Starting from the ancient age, the utilization of materials, the research progresses in the synthetic materials, polymers and their applications in various fields especially in medicine.

                  The following competitions chemact, chem modelling, chempower, chem. Storming and chemad were conducted in connection with one day chemfete 2009. Students actively participated and learned new concepts.
