In 2008 the department is elevated to post graduate department. The department is equipped with excellent infrastructures, which include hi-tech instrum ents, research facilities and versatile library. Our curriculum and course content are structured with need based and job oriented papers. The department conducts the BOS meeting every year to design and modify the curricula. The departmental library with 300 books is maintained for the benefit of students. Our Faculty members present papers periodically in seminars and publish articles in reputed journals and serve as resource persons in other institutions. The department is known for its conduct of Intercollegiate and National seminars. The department successfully organized National seminars consecutively for four years, so far. UGC sponsored minor research projects and major projects are carried out in the department. Dr. Sr. Y. Yesu Thangam has been recognized as supervisor from Mother Teresa Women’s University for guiding M.Phil and Ph.D candidates in Chemistry.
Moreover, our students actively participate in many intercollegiate programmes and present papers. Every year students are taken to educational tours to Industries and Scientific Instrumentation centers. Students are given training in preparation of applied chemistry products. Mentoring system is followed to give guidance to the students and to develop them into fully human and fully alive. Our alumni are placed in prestigious positions such as lecturers, social workers and managing directors.
